Amy Shaw’s Story

“Faith without works is dead.” For Amy, this Bible scripture has been a source of strength during life’s challenges, leading
her to this final happening – her Home Dedication.

In 2004, Amy moved to Vero Beach in search of her birth mother. While she did end up finding her, it was also in a low season of life when Amy had decided to change careers. She was hoping to get a fresh start with her new job, but it was commission-based, and she struggled to make sales. Unfortunately, she was eventually let go, and that led to a series of unfortunate events.

After some difficult times finding a place to live, Amy and her family now share a small apartment, but it still doesn’t properly address the overcrowding issues. “This whole situation has been traumatic for my children. I want stability more than anything for them,” Amy says.

Amy first heard about Habitat for Humanity when she was just 14 years old. Since then, she has dreamed of having her own Habitat home. Now, her dream is coming true as she is about to begin her journey to being a proud homeowner.

Stability and security are finally within reach. Congratulations to Amy and family!
