A Note from our President
Tuesday, June 29, 2021

As we prepare to wind down our fiscal year and look forward to another year, we want to pause for a moment and share with you our heart-felt thanks.
Despite the challenges of this past year, Indian River Habitat would like to thank ALL of you who have helped us along the way reach our goals in serving many working families here in Indian River County.
One of the words that best describes the remembrance of this past year is gratitude. Webster defines gratitude as, “the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.”
VOLUNTEERS: While we have been limited in the number that we could welcome at any one time, we are grateful for your persistent generosity in sharing with us your time, talents, and treasures, especially during these difficult times!
DONORS: Thank you for continuing to give so generously to the working families who have needed a hand up this year in achieving their dream of homeownership!
SCHOLARS: Donors, volunteers, and scholars, thank you for your
“stick-to-it-tive-ness”; it takes all of us working together. Congratulations on finishing another year well!
Included in the challenges of this past year is the fact that more than a few of us have lost loved ones, whether due to the pandemic or due to other circumstances; and while I am saddened by our loss, I am grateful for the memories of our loved ones and the enormous impact they had on our lives – our lives are richer, fuller, and better because of them!
Finally, next year isn't just another year; in September 2021 we will begin to celebrate 30 years of serving this community. Thank you to all who have served this mission in some capacity over all of these years. Our hearts are full of gratitude; we are grateful for each and every one of you.
Looking forward,
Sheryl S. Vittitoe
Indian River Habitat President and CEO
