Originally from Connecticut, Peggy Gibbs has resided in Vero Beach since 2004. She has served as IRHFH's Development Manager since June 2007. Previously she held the positions of Fund Development Specialist, Development Coordinator and Development Director with other area non-profits. Prior to relocating to Vero, she was the Development Associate for the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut, Inc. In September, 2010 she received the designation of Certified Fund Raising Executive, through CFRE International. In order to achieve this certification, Peggy had to meet standards in four key areas: Education and Continuing Education, Professional Practice, Professional Performance, and Service to the Community. For her initial certification she also needed to pass an exam which tests fundraising professionals on their mastery of the six core knowledge areas related to fundraising practice. The CFRE designation is valid for three years, at which time Peggy will need to again meet minimum requirements in continuing education, professional practice, professional performance and service. In her current role, Peggy oversees all development initiatives for IRHFH including major giving, the annual appeal, planned giving, donor stewardship, and the donor database.
