These teams of volunteers provide the foundation of Habitat’s work in Indian River County. Choose from the list below based on your interests and skills.
Family Selection
Evaluates and verifies applications from prospective home applicants, visits homes and recommends families for approval by the Board of Directors. Committee meets monthly.
Family Support Committee
Members serve as advocates for home applicant families as they go through the Habitat process. Committee meets monthly.
Green Team
The Habitat Green Team continually evaluates and implements ways in which Habitat can reduce, reuse and recycle to be better stewards of the resources we have. Committee meets monthly.
House Sponsor Committee
At least one representative from each house sponsor will serve on this committee. Committee members will share fundraising and volunteer management strategies four times per year, as well as receive support from Habitat staff.
Special Events Committees
Plans fundraising events such as our annual Habitat Cracker Hoe-Down, scheduled for November 13, 2010. Committee meeting frequency varies.
Scholarship Committee
Collaboration and implementation of after school program(s)/scholarship program(s) for Habitat Homeowner children. Committee meets monthly.
Home Center Committee
For those with a retail background - a consulting role enabling the Habitat Home Center to continue to improve sales. Committee meeting frequency varies.
